A Pathetic Celebration

For his birthday this year, Scott had to go out of town to Zurich. We planned on celebrating the next day. I planned to have awesome steak fajitas, with all the fixings; salsa, refried beans, guacamole, chips and cheese dip. For dessert I thought a cheesecake with fresh strawberry sauce would be great. Well, I'm still getting used to cooking on the stove, instead of the grill, and I don't have my usual kitchen tools. We haven't gotten our shipment yet so we're still operating with bare essentials, and I don't really know my way around the local stores yet to decorate for the occasion. I did manage to find some candles and balloons. One thing after another went wrong. The seasoning I used on the beef wasn't so great and the salsa was yuck along with the cheese dip (not American brands). The balloons were too tough for me to blow up so the girls had Scott blow them up with his eyes closed. I burned the first batch of strawberry sauce and I didn't have any matches to light Scott's candles. So here's a picture of Scott blowing out some pretend fire, presentless, and once again, making things fun in spite of a total disaster. Happy B Day Huz. You can't say I didn't try!
